SNOOKER TOURNAMENT.

A snooker tournament was played at Te Kuiti on Wednesday between Te Kuiti and Te Awamutu teams, and resulted in a win for Te Awamutu by the narrow margin of 10 points, the scores being Te Awamutu 1537, Te Kuiti 1527. Thirty-eight games were played by the 18 players (9 a-side) on four tables in the Te Kuiti Billiard Parlours. Te Awamutu was represented by Messrs Jull, Bayley, Campbell, McMunay, Edwards, Martin, Simpson, Gibson and Le Sueur. A return match is to be played at the Cosmopolitan Billiard Parlors, Te Awamutu, on Thursday next, 16th inst.

The teams were entertained at dinner, and after the completion of the match they were the guests of Mr Falwasser, who treated them right royally, and entertained them till the departure of the Main Trunk express. The return match is being looked forward to with much interest.
