TO THE EDITOR. SIR,—I am not a member of the Chamber of Commerce, but, if it continues to be as live an institution as it has been in the past I will certainly hand in my name for enrolment. That the Town Board could have been so shortsighted and so inexcusably impolite as tojreat the representations of that energetic public body —the Te Awamutu Chamber of Commerce—as not being worth consideration, is beyond comprehension. "Growler" is to be praised for enlightening that section of the ratepayers who do not fully understand the true meaning of " Received." The Town Board has done much good work, and so, too, has the Chamber of Commerce. Both are, or should be, working in the interests of the town, and both, therefore, should willingly cooperate to bring about that end. If they don't it seems to me that much good work will be left undone while personal feeling is being settled. As it is now the Chamber of Commerce could certainly hold a grudge against the Board, but, unless I mistake its officers, I feel sure that they will continue to approach the Board with the same goodjeeling and genuine motives as in the past. I hope so at all events.—l am, etc., LOOKER-ON.
