BOWLING.
The bowlers are having their "at home " on Saturday afternoon, when the new green at Victoria Park will be formally opened. The weather and other reasons have prevented this being done before, but given fine
weather there should be a great * gathering to-morrow. The green ' is certainlytin splendid condition, and reflects very great credit on the two superintendents, Messrs G. 11. White and P. Clement. Nisitors are expected from most of the South Auckland bowling . clubs. The ladies are providing afternoon tea. Mrs H. F. Edgecumbe will preside. During the afternoon the X trophies won last season will be presented to the winners by the President, Mr H. F. Edgecumbe. The Town Board had hoped to officially open the new Band Rotunda during the afternoon, but owing to the contractor having found it impossible to complete the erection by that date, it has be-n found necessary to postpone the opening until a future date.
