LIVE STOCK MARKET
THE FRANKTON SALE LARGE ENTRY OF SHEEP An. extra heavy yarding of all classes of fat sheep, with prime quality in short supply, came forward at the weekly stock sale at Frankton on Tuesday. The market was steady throughout and values remained firm at late rates.
A good offering of fat lambs, consisting of light and unfinished sorts, were sold at late rates. All classes of store sheep were dull of sale. There was only a small yarding of ox beef, for which values remained very firm. There was a good entry of cow and heifer beef, with no alteration in values.
A large offering of veal showed a slight improvement for finished cattle, but unfinished calves were hard to quit. Another heavy yarding of boners came forward, a big proportion being in. poor condition. Heavy boners sold on a par with last week, while lighter and poorer conditioned showed a decline in value. There was a small yarding of fat pigs, with competition slightly keener for good quality bacon and pork, while a small entry of stores and weaners showed little alteration on last week’s prices.
