QUEEN CARNIVAL
ST. PETER'S PARISH £2OO ALREADY COLLECTED The Queen Carnival organised by St. Peter's Catholic Church: has been in progress for a month «ind already the. large sum of £2OO. has been collected, states a bulletin issued by the secretary, Mr, M. A sketch plan of the newinfant school, which it is proposed to erect from the funds, -jnhaSi been prepared by the architects, Messrs Edgecumbe and White, of Hamilton. A plan of the proposed renovations to the old buildings has also been submitted. The total cost of all this work is in the --vicinity. t>f £9OO, and the executive committee is confident that the money will be forthcoming. The plans are being submitted to His Lordship, the Bishop, for ..his approval, and tenders will be called as soon as the architects have completed the specifications. It is stated that the erection of the new infant school is a matter of great urgency and must be begun withr out delay. The three queens for the carnival are Miss Noreen White (Country), Miss Kitty West (Sports) and Miss Mary McNamara (Convent).
