CAMBRIDGE POLO CLUB
' OFFICIAL OPENING. PLEASANT AFTERNOON. The Cambridge Polo Club held its official opening on Saturday afternoon last at Mr James Taylor’s, "Bardowic. ” The day was an ideal one, though it rained heavily just after the close of the afternoon’s proceedings. There was a large attendance of members and friends, and visitors from the Matangi, To Awamutu and Waimai Clubs. Among the visitors was Captain White, president of the Waimai Club. The players spent the afternoon with friendly "knock-ups” and during the afternoon the lady supporters provided a delightful tea. Among those present were Mrs Noel Peake, Mrs Norman Banks, Mrs Biennerhassett, Mrs C. Meredith, Mrs G. Vospcr, Mrs F. ICingsford, Mrs C. Peake, Mrs Colin Taylor, Mrs T. Ranstead, Mrs G. Ranstoad, Mrs Vere Chitty, Mrs R. B. Cramvell, Mrs E'. Grocott, Mrs F. Vospcr, Mrs A. Fisher, Mrs E. Soutcr, Mrs E. Wallis, Mrs Sefton, Mrs I-Icwctt, Mrs Short, Mrs L. Kay and Mrs L. Peake (Te Awamutu), and Mrs Porritt; Miss Myra Taylor, Miss M. Peake, Miss E. Mackereth, Miss Audrey Hewett, Miss R. Soutcr, Miss M. Souter, Miss E. Bell, Miss B. Being (Dunedin), Miss J. Manning, Miss Betty Lee, Miss N. Butler, Miss J. Fisher, Miss I. Townsend, Miss T. Banks, Miss C. Hewett, Miss I. Mocking, Miss M. Christophers, Miss D. Peake (To Awamutu), Miss E. Spcake, Miss ,T. Brewer, Miss A. Speake, Miss J. Phillips and Miss Chamberlain.
