The board to be erected in front of the office will cover an area of 12G square feet. The 76 electorates will be arranged in order from north to south as they are geographically situated on the map. The Auckland Province will have prominence, and there will be a special section for the Waikato electorate, all polling booths being posted. Each electorate will be ruled off with a blue band, the names of the electorates being in red ink and the candidates’ names in black. The telephone will also be engaged in securing results, and enquiries will only hinder this. Special arrangements are being made with the Power Board for lighting the board, and the results should be plainly visible to the public in the street. Entertaining the Public. During the evening the Municipal Band will entertain the public from the balcony of the Masonic Hotel with a programme of suitable music, the proprietor, Mr T. S. Cray, having kindly allowed the band the use of the balcony, and the necessary permission having been obtained from the police. The balcony will be well lighted, and it is also intended to request the two candidates to speak from the balcony of the hotel. The whole of the Dominion results, together with the detailed returns of the Waikato electorate, will, of course, appear in the Independent on Thursday. Traffic in Duke Street. As a very largo concourse of residents is expected to assemble in front of the office car-owners are advised not to park their cars in Duke Street.
