As the result of a severe frost, in Central Otago last week the fruit crop is practically ruined. In Ettrick district it is estimated, that there will be a loss of 40,000 cases of apples and pears. Following a rainfall at Cromwell the valley was swept by a blizzard and Mount Pisa was covered with snow half-way down. The weather was the worst experienced in November for years and the loss to fruit growers will be heavy.
