THEFT OF MONEY
BICYCLE ALSO STOLEN HAUTAPU FARM EMPLOYEE ARRESTED. On Sunday morning last, Mr Samuel Holmes, farmer, of Hautapu, reported to Constable E;. F. Jones that a young man- nanied Richard Kennah, aged 23, wdio had been employed on his farm for the past six weeks, was missing, A bicycle and the sum of £3 10/-, the property of Edward rentelow another young man employed on the farm wore also missing. Enquiries were made by Constable Jones and it was subsequently discovered that a pair of tan shoes and an overcoat were also missing. The money had been taken from the pockets of the young man's clothes. Constable Jones promptly got in touch with tho Hamilton police, who who notified the Frankton Police station, and a watch was kept on outgoing trains. Just before the express left for Wellington the missing young man was arrested. Next morning accused appeared in the Hamilton Court and was remanded until Wednesday, (yesterday). When the accused appeared in Court yesterday he admit:ted his guilt and was again remanded to Wesdnesday next to enable inquiries to be made.
