SPECIAL CIRCUIT MEETING EEV. McAETHUE EELIEVED FOE PEOHIBITION WORK A special meeting of officials of the Cambridge Methodist circuit was held last'night, when there was a good.attendance. The meeting was called for the purpose, of considering an application for the Eev. McArthur to be relieved from circuit work until after the licensing poll, in order that he might take up the position of organiser for the prohibition work in the South Auckland area. .Several letters and telegrams were read, making an urgent appeal for Mr McArthur to be relieved, it being felt that he was specially fitted for the work of organiser. Mr McArthur explained that the applications had come as a great surprise to him, and ho had not. sought such a position. He left the matter cntirely in the hands of the meeting. After considerable discussion, it was unanimously resolved to grant the request of the Prohibition officials, and a committee of three (Messrs C. H. Bycroft, M. Butler and F. Penn) was sot up to attend a meeting at Hamilton on Tuesday next, and make arrangements for suitable pulpit supply during Mr McArthur's engagement in Prohibition work; also to make financial arrangements, offers having been made to grant any reasonable .request in this direction.
Mr Mcxirthur will take up his duties as organiser immediately.
