BELLE CRflfflE COMPANY

A most enjoyable programme was submitted on Wednesday evening last at the. Cambridge Town Hall by the Belle Crome combinat : on of musical artistes. A large audience paid tribute to the excellence of the various items with unstinted applause. Mr Norman Churton particularly scored a great success, his fins baritone voice being of great range and his various songs being well selected. In Miss'Ethel Richards, the company have a soprano of unusual talent and the mastsrly rendering of her allotted solos was an' entertainment in itself. The musical Cromes repeated past successes, and Mr Bert Ralph proved his abilities as a comedian, whilst the acrobatical “turn” of the Creightons was a very thrilling and highly attractive item.

HAYWARD'S PICTURES

Messrs Hayward had no reason tc complain of lacK of patronage for their usual weekly production of pictures at the Cambridge Town Hall on Thursday evening, when the films were well received by a large and enthusiastic audience. “A Tragedy of the Sea” was of a powerful order, and “The Vengeance of the Mafia” and “Indian Romeo and Juliet” were also emotional. Scenics were of grandeur and thi humorous subjects were always funny. An entirely new series is to be presented on Thursday next.

ENTERTAIHMENT AT MAUNGATAUTARI

The concert and dance organised at Maungrftautari in aid of the Anglican Church funds took place under the most favorable weather conditions on Wednesday and Ihe Rev, MortimerJones had the pleasure of presiding over a full and attentive audience.

The following programme was gone through, the comic element provided hy Mr W. McVeagh being in keen demand : instrumental duet, Misses Trewn and Perkins; song, “The Slave Song," Mrs Scott: song, “The Canadian Boat Song,” Miss Vosper (encored); phonograph selections, Miss Ross; vocal duet, “Life’s Dream is O'er," Mr and Mias Hicks (encored); song, “Roses.” Mrs Cooper; comic, “Let Me Like a Soldier Fall,” Mr McVeagh (encored); violin solo, Miss Vosper (encored); song, Mr T. Boyce; song, Mr McVeagh (encored); song, “The Brook," Miss Watkins; song.i Mr F. Vosper; song, Mrs L. Watkins (encored). Dancing was then indulged in with spirit until a late hour, dainty and abundant refreshments being supplied by the ladies.

Mr C. H, Cooper carried out the duties of M.C. in a very pleasing manner,*and a word of thanks is also due to the promoters, Mrs li. A. Kirkby and Miss Trcwin.
