Fireworks Display.

There was a large attendance at the Lake Reserve, Hamilton, to witness the fireworks and moving picture display given by the Miramar Fireworks Company. The Hamilton Band played through the streets to the grounds where they also played a number of selections. A number of moving pictures were shown with great success, but they were invisible to a good many owing to those in front persisting in standing up. The fireworks were greatly appreciated, the fixed display, particularly the butterfly and the fountain, being received with rounds of applause. A number of excellent aerial bombs and rockets were sent up, the retlections when they burst being thrown up in the clear waters of the lake. Two mines were exploded but the effect of these was largely lost in the darkness.
