Raglan Co-operative Dairy Company.
The annual meeting of the shareholders of the Raglan Co-operative Dairy Company was held at Kauroa on the 15th inst, nearly all the shareholders being present. It was resolved that in future all expenditure coming under the heading of trade expenses be shown in detail. Resolved that the directors be asked to go into the matter of installing an automatic skim-milk weigher, and to take such steps as they may consider necessary. Mr J. Belcher and Mr Watkins were the retiring directors, the former being re-elected, and the latter refusing to stand again. Mr Stanton was elected in his place. Mr Dent was re-elected auditor for the year. Mr W. J. Henry was presented with a bonus of £lO for the able manner in which he had discharged his duties as chairman of directors. At the subsequent meeting of directors Mr Henry was again appointed chairman, and he and Mr McDonald were authorised to sign cheques. The above company has come through a prosperous season with a very largely increased output. An attempt is being made by the directors of the above company and of the Te Mata Dairy Company to amalgamate the two concerns. Although the scheme seems highly desirable, very little hope is held out of its consummation, chiefly owing to the absence of unanimity as to which factory should be made the central one.
