(by eleotric telegraph—copyright). London, June 29. Mr Chamberlain, in the House of Commons, referred to the New Guinea Syndicate's proposal. He said Sir W. Macgregor had reported that unless encouragement was given to a company such as that projected by the syndicate, there was no apparent prospect of the early development of the agricultural resources of the island. Ho added that Sir W. Macgregor and the Queensland Government were responsible for the agreement.
