POLITICAL NOTES.

(BY TELEGRAPH - SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT) Wellington, Last Night. MR LANG'S SPEECH.

The member for Waikato made an effective speech on the Address-in-Reply. He strongly advocated the erection of a bridge at Tuakau, on the Waikato river, and pointed out that the construction of this bridge would so greatly enhance the value of the Crown lands in that locality that it would really cost the Government very little. In connection with this matter, a deputation, headed by Mr Lang and Mr Massey, with other Auckland members, will shortly wait on the Ministers to urge on them the necessity of erecting this bridge.
