WAITOA ROAD BOARD.
The ordinary monthly meeting of the above Board was held last Saturday, all the members being present.
Change ov Roll.—A letter was received from Mr J. Mace, reporting that he had leased Section 17, Block 12, Te Aroha, to Mr J. litmnina, whose name he wished to be put on the Valuation Roll in lieu of his; also from Mr P. O'Grady reporting that he had sold Sectiou 20, Block 12, Te Aroha, to Mrs James, whose name he wished to be put on the roll.—These alterations to be attended to when the new Valuation Roll comes to hand. Valuation Roll.—A letter was received from Mr W. Duncan, supervising vainer, in reference to having the necessary alterations made in the Valuation Roll and asking if the clerk would assist in the direction indicated.—The Clerk replied that he would give all the assistance he could. The Board approved.— The clerk was instructed to write and ask when the Valuation Roll will be forwarded.
Gkattan's Road.—The Engineer, in his report, staterl that the fires which have been burning for some months on Grattan's Road, have made holes in the road in some places four or five feet deep.—lt was decided to dig a ditch along one side of the road to octain stuff to fill up the holes, Fakmek's Road.—lt was decided that about 00 chains of the ditch on the side of what is known as Farmer's Hoad at the Waitoa bush bo cleaned out.
Defkctivb Bridges.—lt was reported that the bridge over the Ngulumanga Road outfall drain will soon give way if something is not done to prevent the banks from slipping down.—lt was decider! that the engineer get stakes and brush put in to protect the banks.—lt was reported that one of the bridges on McGlashan's Road is giving way, and that the Piako Bridge near the Kiwitalii Railway Station seems to bo getting shakey.—The Engineer was instructed to get the bridge en McGlashan's Road put right, and inspect and report on the Piako Bridge. SnsDKY Works.—lt was reported that the surfacemen have been doing good work, and that R. Staike has repaired the road through the Eversley property from the main Richmond Road, to Starke's boundary and made a very good job. Government Grant.—No reply has been received to the Board's application a month ago for £4O placed ou the Estimates by the Government, and which is said to be still unexpended and available for drains on Block IX., Te Aroha. Accounts. -The following accounts were passed for payment :—A. Rremner, £2 10s ; F. Pavitt. £3 15s ; W. Pevreal, £5 14s ; C. McGuirc, £2B 3s ; R. Starke, £5 ; Waikato Argus, £2 15s (id ; 1).
