KIRIKIRIROA ROAD BOARD.

♦. The Kirikiriroa Road Board held its usual meeting at the Council Chambers, Hamilton East, yesterday afternoon. Thero were present: —Messrs John Cordon (chairman), V. Cliit'y, J no. Primrose, I. CVatos. Bad Road.—MrD. Hindcrson, North Ngaruawahia, wrote drawing tha attention of the Board to the state of the road near his property, which was continually cut into ruts owing to the drain being blocked up and water flowing over it.— The Board considered Mr Henderson had very fair access to his property, and was not debarred from approaching any portion of it, and the letter was received. —The Chairman reported that furze, briars, etc., were making great headway in this dis'rict, and some parts of the load were in a disgraceful condition. — The Board decided to serve furze notices upon the parties interested. Tenders. —The following tenders were received for Taylor's ami Waring'u Road. Totals only :—Tcbbs and Radlord, £SO 3s Id : F. \V. Littlewood, £57 lGs ; M. McCarthy, £5!) lis lOd; Booth and Wallace, £47 13s 2d ; Parker and Starr, £4O 13s 10 (accepted). For the work of gravelling from Libeati's to Taupiri only one tender was received—that of Mr C. Crouch, at Is Hd; but it was considered too high and fresh tenders will be called. Finance.—The Clerk reported that the Board's assets amounted to £247 2s !M and the liabilities to £216 Is sd, leaving a slight balance in hand. Closed Road.—Mr R. \V." Dyer, on behalf of Mr A. Smith, wrote requt sting the Board to remove the obstructions, in the nature of two wire fences elected over the Tramway Road, by Mr I. Coates. He stated that he did not wish to threaten the Board, but his client was determined to see the matter through. This refeis to the road adjoining Mr Coates' farm, where, in order to avoid several hills the Board has made a sligho deviation through Mr Coates' property, and allowed Mr Coates to enclose the old road in exchange.—The Board considered Mr Smith was putting the Board to a great deal of unnecessary expense, aud decided to reply to Mr Dyer explaining the position, and informing him that the matter would be settled at the next meeting. Messrs W. Chitty and C. A. Davis were requested to confer with MiDyer upon the subject. Accounts. The following accounts were passed for payment:—J. Franklin, £8 ;C. Parker, £3 Si; salaries. £7 lOi ; G. F. Mellars, £1 2s 6d ; commission on rates, £lO 0s lid. Rate.—lt was resolved to strike the usual rate of £d in the £ on all rateable property.
