GOOD ENTERTAINMENT.

CENTRAL SCHOOL PUPILS’ CONCERT. LARGE AUDIENCE LAST NIGHT. Capital entertainment, of a bright and varied nature, was provided in the assembly hall of the Masterton Central School last night when the pupils presented their annual concert. There was a large and appreciative audience and the performance of the youthful artists was well up to the high standard set in previous years. There was not a dull moment from the opening item to the final curtain and the children acquitted themselves in a highly creditable manner. The second half of the programme was devoted to an amusing play, “The Crimson Coconut,” the players for which were trained by Miss Cocker. The infants were trained by Misses Wallace, Renner and Allan, and Miss Kirk was responsible for the presentation by Std. 3 pupils of a cantata. The programme was as follows:— Nursery rhymes, infants; dance, B. Hurst; recitation, H. Wagg; tap dance, N. Brown; song in character, P. Turner; operatic dance, K. Dallas; cantata, “Old Mr. Sundown in Fairyland,” Std. 3 pupils; play, “The Crimson Coconut,” waiter, Blatter; detective, L. Killington; Mr. Jabstick, R. Killington; Nancy, P. Macalister; Mde. Gliserinski, D. Pulford; Nitro Gliserinski, Jorgenson. The entertainment will be repeated to-night when another bumper attendance is anticipated.
