SOUTH WAIRARAPA UEMSv martinbohou&h.. ('‘The Age” Special;) Mr. and Mrs J..Sleeth and Mra 'W'. Sleeth have been spending a few <btys in Napier. Mrs Stuck, who has been months with her daughter Mrs Boy Burch, has returned, to. her home in Melbourne.
On Thursday night the Fire Brigade held their 500 evening in the lawn Hall Supper Room, priics being awarded to Miss Ward and’ Mrs Lister, Mr. Albert Smith and Mr. Beg. Vent. The Women Institute meeting was held on Thursday afternoon, Mrs Tyler presiding over a good attendance of members. The competition for the best posy was won by Mrs Tyler with Mrs Boyd second 1 and Miss Whitehead third. Mrs Casely was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for her demonstration of wood-pulp flower making. On Tuesday night a euchre tournament, ia aid of the funds of St. Anthony Church, was held in the supper room ot the Town Hall, when there was a record attendance* prises being awarded to Mrs Whitehead 1, Mrs Holland 2, Mr. D. Haigh and Mrs E. lay.An enjoyable dance wns held at the Top Hat Tea Rooms on Tuesday night, music being supplied by Te Tau’s Orchestra with extras by Mr. P. Hayman and Miss Hayman.
