DISTRICT NEWS.
SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS. MARTINBOROUGH. (“The Age’ ’Special.) Mrs. Colman has been in Wellington; for a few days. Miss d’Emden, of Tiri Hospital, lias returned from a holiday visit to Waipawa. Miss Evans, has been ini Wellington for a few days. There was a large attendance at thebadminton court on Monday night* when Mr. Devlin played exhibition matches. Visitors from various parts* of the Wairarapa were also present. The Mayor, Mr. W. B; Martin, extended a hearty welcome to Mr. Devlin and' the visitors, who were afterwards entertained at supper by club members. Miss Myra Flynn was the guest of' honour at a party held at Dyerville recently and was the recipient of manyuseful gifts. Mrt Garrity, on behalf of those present, wished Miss Flynn all future happiness; Mr. O. Loughlin replying. Mr. Duffy was responsible for the dance music and during the evening Miss 8. Stewart contributed a song and Mrs. C. Hewitson a tap dance.
A pleasant evening was spent on Tuesday at St. Andrew’s Bridge Club. Mesdames Dale and E. B. Evans acted: as hostesses and the prize for the evening was won by Mrs. Marflltt.
