OBITUARY.
M. TSALDARIS. ATHENS, May 17. The death has occurred of M. Panayoti Tsaldaris, former Premier. He attended a meeting yesterday morning and had a heart seizure at night. (M. Panayoti Tsaldaris "was born in 1868 and educated in Germany, Greece, and France. He became a lawyer and in 1910 was elected a Deputy in the Greek Parliament. Elected chairman of the Popular Party, he was appointed Minister of Justice in 1915 and in 1920-21 was Minister of Communications. For a few months from the end of 1932 to 1933 he was Prime Minister. Again in 1933 he became F’rime Minister, and he remained in that position until the preparations for the plebiscite on the recall of King George from abroad. When the Monarchists demonstrated last October, demanding the immediate recall of the King M. Tsaldaris's Government resigned. General Kondylis succeeded as Prime Minister and at the following elections their candidates formed one group. The elections resulted in a very even position between the opposing parties and M. Demerdjis formed a Ministry, being succeeded a month later by General Metaxas).
