DOCTORS INJURED.

MISHAPS IN MARLBOROUGH DISTRICT. ONE ATTACKED BY MENTAL PATIENT. BLENHEIM, May 18. Saturday evening was unlucky for the medical profession, two Blenheim doctors through different causes sustaining injuries for which they are still receiving attention and a third from. Nelson having a narrow escape from injury when making a special trip to attend one of his Blenheim confreres.

The most serious experience was that of Dr. Russell Adams, of Blenheim, who received painful and possibly serious injuries -to his right eye when a mental patient he was attending became violent and .struck him a powerful blow in. the face. The doctor's glasses were shattered, one piece of glass becoming embedded in the eye and necessitating the attention of an eye specialist from Nelson. His condition this morning was as satisfactory as could be expected. The eye specialist, Dr. L. A. Lewis, had an eventful trip from Nelson. On the Wangamoa Hill a fall of earth occurred in front of the car and both the doctor and the driver were occupied for an hour clearing a track. While they were working there were several further falls, making the task a dangerous one.

The third mishap of the evening occurred at the Lion's Back on the highway south of Seddon. When Dr. P. J. Fogarty, of Blenheim, was proceed-

ing to attend a country patient his car skidded over a bank, rolling over several times and being completely wrecked. Dr. Fogarty escaped serious injury but was confined to his bed during the week-end.—(P.A.)
