ELDERLY LADY’S DEATH.
DUE TO NATURAL CAUSES. EVIDENCE AT INQUEST. An inquest was held at the Masterton Courthouse yesterday afternoon before the District Coroner, Mr. E. G. Eton, concerning the death of Miss Florence Lydia Jackson, who died early on Thursday morning at the residence of her nephew, Mr. Gerald Noel Bennett, "Fernglen,” East Coast. The evidence showed that the late Miss Jackson was keeping house for her nephew. She had complained to him a few days ago and also to her niece, Mrs. Wilson Paku, about having a pain in her chest, left arm and side. At 4.45 a.m. on Thursday morning her nephew was awakened by her calls for assistance and he found her breathing with difficulty. Mr. Bennett rang up. Mrs. Paku and she and Mr. Paku arrived 20 minutes later. Still finding Miss Jackson distressed, he rang up Dt Hosking, who asked him to feel her pulse. He returned to her room to do so and found that she had just expired. The Coroner returned a verdict of •death from natural causes, in accordance with the medical evidence. Evidence was given by Mr.- G. N. Bennett, Dr. Hosking and Mrs. Paku.
