STOLEN CAR.

FOUND DESTROYED BY. TIRE AT MT- BRUCE.

The motor-ear which was taken from the W.F.CA. 'parking place in Chapel Street on Wednesday night was found yesterday morning completely. ’ destroyed by fire. The car was discovered over a bank on the main north road, at •Mount Bruce, on the Masterton side of the Ruamahemga Suspension Bridge. So completely did the flames demolish, the car that every trace ofi the woodwork, upholstery and even the tyres had disappeared, all thaX remained being the chassis and engine.. Some trees and shrubs growing on the- bank were also destroyed by fire. The car, which was owned, by Mr. John-j Craig, of 59 Bentley Street, Masterton, was parked on the W.F.C.A. area ate-730 pjn. on Wednesday and when the owner went for his car at 10.30 p.m. it was missing. The Masterton police were informed rt>y Mx. L:..J. Matthews, of- Mount Br*e, just beifere noon yesterday that he had noticed’ a ear destroyed by fire over a bank 1 near his property. On investigations being made it,was found that the ear was the one which had been taken, from Masterton the night before. The ear was a 1926 model and!it is. understood, was insuwd.
