WEDDING.

MAITL A ND—KNELL. The wedding took place at St. Paul’s Pro-Cathedral, Wellington, recently, of Bernice Ella (Betty) second daughter of Mr. and Mrs W, J. Knell, Grey town, and Nigel, only son of Mrs. G. Maitland, Lower Hutt. The bride is wellknown in Wellington as “Fairiel,” of the “Evening Post.” The Rev. Archdeacon A. M. Johnson performed the ceremony. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a golden gown of lace and satin, fitting sheath-like to the knees where the skirt flared fully to form a train. The short coatee of gold lace was puffed at the elbows. A Juliet cap of gold lace held in place, the veil of golden tinted tulle, and the bride carried a bouquet of deep cream rosebuds. The bridesmaid, Miss Molly Hastwell (Nelson), wore a dainty frock of Nile green georgette with a deep hem of green lace, the shoulder-line being finished with diamante embroideries.- Her coatee had elbow puffs of lace the shade of her frock being repeated in the flat velvet leaves which, formed her head-band. Her bouquet was of pom-pom dahlias and gladioli an pale apricot tones. Mr. G. Mabin (Lower Hutt) was best man. The reception was held at the Dominion Farmers’ Institute buildings, where the supper rooms were bright with gladioli ; d Iceland poppies- in pink and golden shades. Mrs. W. J. Knell (mother of the bride) wore a gown of deep claret lace and georgette. Her bouquet was of gladioli and miniature dahlias in red tones. Mrs. Maitland (mother of the bridegroom) was wearing a midnight blue satin gown with puffed sleeves and vestee of floral georgette. Her bouquet was of flame tinted flowers.
