CHICHESTER AVOIDING PUBLICITY. “NOTHING 1 TO MAKE A SONG ABOUT.” SYDNEY, June 13, Efforts to interview Mr F. C. Chichester, the New Zealand airman, aboard the Albatross, were unavailing. “I don’t wish to be discourteous,” he told an officer who tried to bring him in touch with Pressmen. “I will not see reporters. I have done nothing to make a song about, and I don’t like publicity.” Chichester is the guest of the captain. It is understood that he told the officers of the ship that visibility on his hop from Lord Howe was so bad that at times he wac flying within a few feet of the sea. The wind was unfavourable, and the magneto gave trouble. Chichester is wearing a black, bushy beard. He says that there are more important things to do than to shave. It is believed that he is looking in the direction of Japan for the next hop.
