ALLEGED FRAUD.
LENGTHY TRIAL IN ITALY. ECHO OF HATRY CASE. (Received Sunday, 5.5 p.m.) MILAN, June 13. After a week’s trial on charges of fraud, conspiracy and forgery, John Gialdini, in pleading, alleged that the members of the Hatry group swindled ■him of £60,000. A deposition by Hatry (now serving a long sentence in Britain) stated that Gialdini was conversant with all the affairs of the group, and added: “We have no animus against him and should hate to think that he was going to share my fate.” Gialdini was sentenced to a year’s imprisonment, but the many months he has already spent in gaol will be deducted from this sentence. He was ordered to pay damages of an unspecified amount to Sir Gilbert 'Garnsey, representing the Hatry companies’ estate, which was sequestrated at the time of his arrest. Gialdini is appealing.
