RIOTS IN ROUBAIX.
BRUTAL ATTACK ON POLICE BY MOB. PROHIBITION OF A STRIKE DEMONSTRATION. CORDON DRAWN ROUND DISTRICT United Press Association. —By Electrie Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received Sunday, 5.0 p.m.) LONDON, June 13. Advice from Roubaix states that grave disorders followed upon the prohibition by the police of a demonstration of textile strikers, who began to molest isolated policemen. When the latter were reinforced, 800 men and women armed with sharp stones attacked, the police with .a terrific hail of stones. The police retired with their faces running with blood. Finally the police and troops were withdrawn and posted in a cordon round the district, not permitting anyone to enter.
