SOUTH WAIRARAPA ITEMS.
FEATHERSTON. (The “Age” Special.) Mr. and Mrs Littlejohn, of Pahautea, will leave shortly for an extended tour of Australia and Canada. Miss C. Lyford, Tauherenikau, left yesterday on a visit to Wellington, where she will be the guest of her sister, Mrs H. Askew. Mrs C. Ritchie, Featherston, has left on a visit to Christchurch. Golf. The ladies of the Martinborough Golf Club paid a friendly visit to Rototawai on Saturday when _ they were defeated by the Wairarapa Club. At the week-end the ladiep of the Wairarapa Golf Club held a sealed handicap tournament, when Miss R. Adamson was first and Mrs D. C. Collins second. Card Evening. The Featherston Fire Brigade held smother successful euchre evening on Tuesday night when there were about 70 present. The prizes for the evening, which were presented by Mr. T. E. Lang, were won by the following: Ladies, Mrs Wendon, 1; Miss A. Benton, 2. Men: Mr. Barclay, 1; Mr. Musgrove, 2. A most enjoyable supper was served by the ladies. MARTINBOROUGH. (The “Age’’ Special.) Miss E. McKay, Bideford, spent the week-end with her parents. Mr. and Mrs E. J. Beale are in Wellington for a few days. Mrs W. B. Martin has returned from a holiday spent in Napier. Mrs E. C. Lorck, Wellington, is the guest of her sister Mrs T. Norriss, Daniell Street. Mrs K. Arthur has returned from a holiday spent in Wellington. The friends of Mr. and Mrs. F. O’Keefe will sympathise with them in the death of their infant daughter, Maureen. The funeral took place in Martinborough on Tuesday afternoon.
