SERVICES TO SWIMMING.
PRESENTATION TO ME. W. 8. L. DICKSON. Appreciation of the services rendered to swimming in the Wairarapa by Mr. W. S. L. Dickson, president of the Masterton Amateur fhrimming and Life Saving Club, was expressed by members of the club on Saturday evening, when they entertained Mr. Dickson' and made him a presentation. On behalf of members, the club captain, Mr. R. D. Horne presented My, Dickson with a handsome eight-day oak clock. In making the presentation, Mr. Horne spoke of the good fellowship that existed between the president and members of the club . ’ and said that apart from his untiring efforts on behalf of the club, Mr. Dickson had done a great deal to foster swimming throughout the Wairarapa. In thanking members for their kind expressions and for their gift, Mr. Dickson said that he appreciated the good feeling that existed in the club. Someone had to do the job and if he had filled the position of president to the satisfaction of members he was pleased. He regretted, however, that the public did not extend better support to swimming
