PERSONAL.
Mrs Birch-Johnston, of Wellington, is at present on en extended vieit to her sister, Mrs J. Btempa, of Kaituna. Mr. F. A. Shaw, of the Bank of New Zealand staff, who has been relieving in New Plymouth, has been transferred to the Bank’s Auckland office. Miss Douglas, of the Chilton St. James’s School household staff, has been appointed a member of the Masterton Methodist Children’s Home staff. The many friends in Maeterton of Miss Marriott, formerly teacher at the Opaki School, will regret to learn of her death which occurred when returning to New Zealand from England, where she had been residing for some years. • Miss E. Dixon, of the local staff of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-op. Dintributing 00. Ltd., who has been transferred to the firm’s Wanganui Branch, was presented with a travelling rug by the members of the staff on Monday evening. At the meeting of the Y.M.C.A. Board of Directors last evening, reference was made to the late Mrs H. H. Beetham who had always shown a warm interest in the work of the Y.M.C.A. and a suitable motion was carried. _
