BOXING.
PHIL SCOTT WINS ON FOUL. LONDON, April 21. Phil Scott, the English heavyweight champion, met Okun for a purse of £3500. It was a poor fight. Okun looked like a middleweight in comparison with his big opponent and was continually retreating. The crowd expressed its disapproval at the slow fighting, with prolonged booing and catcalls against both men. A brisk rally in the sixth round ended in Scott reeling on the ropes from a blow to the stomach. He collapsed in agony, and was awarded the light.—(A. and N.Z.)
