ECONOMY IN IRELAND.
THE FREE STATE BUDGET. LONDON, April 21. In the Dail, Mr Ernest Blythe, Minister of Finance, introduced the Free Slate Budget. He said that the National Debt was £16,290,000, compared wittli £13,420,000 for last year. lucerne tax., was reduced a shilling in the pound, making earned incomes Is 6C in the £ and unearned 3s. Tho match tax is changed, as. was done in Britain, but the duty was not increased to prevent Continental dumping. Army expenditure was £1,500,000, a reduction of half a million. Revenue was estimated at £24,450,000. The Government is establishing a.committee to examine expenditure and recommend reductions.— (A. and N.Z)
