PERSONAL.

Mr W. E. McMichael, of Ponsonby, Auckland, is at present on a visit to his parents, Mr and Mrs McMichael, South Road.

Mr D. E. Wilton, East Taratahi, who has been visiting Napier and Hastings for the holidays returned to Masterton yesterday. Mr Wilton was a competitor at the Hastings Rifle Meeting.

Mr H. M. Peacock, L.D.S., R.C.S., Eng., of Masterton, has received advice of his appointment as external examiner in dental surgery and pathology, covering oral and clinieal dental mechanics, for the University of New Zealand.

The death is recorded from Napier, after an extended illness, of Mr C. J. Billington, formerly of Carterton. Uhe deceased married a daughter of the kite Mr J. Anderson, for many yeaj&s a resident of Park Road and Belvedere. The late Mr Billington was & very old member of the Totara Lodge cf Druids, having joined the Order in 1891.

Mr D. K. Logan, of Masterton, barrister and solicitor, senior member of the firm of Gawith, Logan, Biss and Wilson, now dissolved, will continue practice on his own account in Masterton, at offices on the ground floor of the A.M.P. Buildings, Perry Street. Mr Logan first entered a law office in Wellington in 1899, came to the Wairarapa in 1902, passed his LL.B, degree in 1903, and commenced practice in April, 1904, in partnership with tho late Mr C. F. Gawith.
