THE DROP IN PRICES. EFFECT IN NEW SOUTH WALES. SYDNEY, Aug. 7.— The Acting-Go-vernment Statistician has issued a preliminary estimate showing that the wool production for New South Wales for the year ended 30th June last amounted to 401,800,0001 b, greasy being 32,700,0001 b., or nearly nine per cent, greater than in the JirevioUs year. This year’s production is valued at £27,600,000, which, owing to the drop in prices, is £10,500,000 less than the previous year.—(P.A.)
