RIFLE SHOOTING.
TRENTHAM MEETING. HUNT WINS CHAMPIONSHIP. MORE WAIRARAPA SUCCESSES! The Wellington Rifle Association’s meeting was continued at Trentham on Saturday, again under -very adverse 1 weather conditions, the heavy southerly making 'conditions most difficult for the marksmen, and calling for the highest skill on the part of the riflemen to obtain the elusive bull’s-eye. Nevertheless, some wonderfully good performances were put up, notably that by Rifleman. H. Hunt (Wellington Suburbs), who won the Midfield aggregate (short ranges), and by consistent shooting at the long ranges, annexed the championship. This is the second win of portance :gain6d by Rifleman Hunt, he , having won the North Island championship at Wanganui a fortnight ago. Karori match:—-£4, L. G.
