THE KING OF GREECE.
WILL NOT RESIGN. UNTIL AFTER PLEBISCITE. (Received 11.45 p.m.) London, March 23.—The “Daily Express ’ ’ Athens correspondent says that King George of Greece caused consternation among members of the Cabinet by a point blank refusal to abdicate until a plebiscie indicates that the popular will is in favour of that stop. The Royalists are convinced that an untrammelled vote will gitfe a large majority in favour of the monarchy. The Republicans themselves do not expect a majority. Nevertheless the Premier is arranging for the immediate proclamation of the Republic.—(A. and N.Z.)
