COLLEGE FOOTBALL.
WAIRARAPA HIGH SCHOOL WINS. The Wairarapa High School yesterday met on the Park Ovai a team captained by Garth Williams (Christ’s College) and consisting of Wairarapa boys home on vacation from various colleges. At the last moment some of those selected were unable to play, and trouble was found in filling the places. The visitors were the heavier team but of course lacked combination and under the circumstances did remarkably well to come so near winning from the nippy High School. Tatham (Wanganui) was a very safe full back. Fairbrother, Garth Williams, Bunny, STclntosh, Burt, and 1. Fraser all played well, but the game and heady work of little Cooper at half was splendid. Fairbrother and G. Williams scored for the visitors; Faulkner, and Boyd for the High School, whose winning margin came from a smart potted goal by L. Williams. Mr A. E. Freeman was referee.
After the game the parents of the Hjgh School entertained both teams at tea, when Dr. Utt ley expressed his pleasure at the fixture being arranged and hoped ii would be followed by others.
