AMATEUR ATHLETICS.
WAIRARAPA CLUB’S MEETING. A. special general meeting of the Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Club was held in the Y\M.C.A. rooms ’’ast even ing. Mr A. Woodley presided. The chairman, in opening the meeting, stated that the suggestion was to (hange the present mime of the club tc that of the Mbsterton Amateur Athletic Club. As a Wa inrapa sun centre was about to bo formed, he considered it esse dial th.-c the name should be changed. Mr G. McKay considered that as the club was the pioneer athletic body in the district it should take pride of place in the list of clubs at present existing in the Wairarapa. Mr Bradbury moved, and Mr Kiimister seconded: “That the name of Wairarapa Amateur Athletic Club Lc changed to Masterton Amateur Athletic Club.” On being put to the meeting the motion was carried unanimously. The secretary was instructed to apply to the Wellington Centre .for the change to he allowed. It was decided that all members residing in the outlying districts be communicated with and informed of the change, and that their further support he solicited.
