WEDDING

MACKIE—RIVE. The wedding took place on Thursday, 18th inst., at Knox Church, Masterton, of Sydney Frederick, third son of the late Rev. William Millar and Mrs Mackie, of Perth, Western Australia, to Margaret Irene, second daughter of Mr and Mrs P. A. Rive, of Jersey Lodge, Lansdowne. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked dainty in a very pretty ribbilene silk trimmed with handsome insertion, with the orthodox veil- and orange blossoms, and court train. She carried a bridal bouquet of cream and white roses and maidenhair fern. The chief bridesmaid, Miss Mavis, tho bride's s : ster, was dressed "in maize cabe crepe; Miss Freda Redman in heliotrope, and Miss Nancy Hugo in pink. They all wore black picture hats and carried bouquets of pink and heliotrope sweet peas. The bridegroom was attended by his best man, Mr Evans, and his groomsmen, Messrs W. Hendry ana D. Ibbetson, all returned •soldiers. Tho bridegroom's gift to the bride was a gold wristlet watch, and to tho bridesmaids a gold bangle and brooches. The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a pair of gold sleeve links. The bride's mother wore a dark amethyst silk costume with black hat, and car ried a bouquet of dark cream roses. The Rev A. T. Thompson, M.A., B.D, performed the ceremony, which was choral. Mr H. Taylor, A.L.C.M, presided at the organ. The church was very prettily "decorated by the Misses Amy Reynolds and Janet Millar. The happy couple received numerous and costly presents from various part of the colony. After the ceremony a reception was held at Jersey Lodge, and later the bride and bridegroom left for the south. The bride's travelling costume was a tailormade cream gabadine and black picture hat lined with saxe blue. Mi and Mrs Mackio's future home will be in Auckland.
