MISTAKES OF THE PAST.
''When will our self-styled 'Reformers' do the right thing-s-when will they give the Liberals a 'square deal' and confess to some, at least, of their egregious mistakes of the past?" This is a question asked by the New Zealand Times. The answer is given every day. The egregious mistakes of the Liberal Party were so numerous that it requires no sacrifice of dignity or honour on the part of the "Reformers" to confess jjo some of them. If the so-called "Liberals" are looking for a "square deal" in this respect, they can have it. One of the egregious mistakes of the past was the placing on the Statute Book of the Second Ballot Act. Another was the Public Revenues Act. A third was the Land Act. A fourth the Gaming Act. A fifth the State Coal Mines Act. A sixth the Midland • Railway Act. K seventh the National Provident Fund Act.
