WEDDING BELLS.

VIVIAN— JAMIESON. Mr Jamieson's home in Oamam presented a somewhat gay appearance on Wednesday last, 24th inst., on the occasion of the marriage of Mr F. Vivian, jun., to Miss Jean Jamieson. A large marquee Avas erected on the lawn, A\ r here the A\edding breakfast Avas laid and the ceremony held. The Rev. Mr Porter, of Oamaru, Avas the officiating clergyman. The bride, Avho AViis neatly adorned, and looked very pretty in her bridal robes, Avas led to the altar by her brother and guardian, Mr E. Jatuiesou. There Avere three bridesmaids viz , Misses Jamieson (2), the sister and niece of the bride, and Miss Vivian. The bridegroom Avas attended by his brother, Mr J. W. Vivian, of Wellington, and Mr A. CarsAvell, of Dunedin. The breakfast table Avas laden Avith the choicest of viands, the cake, which Avas the Avork and gift of Mr Hardy Murdoch, of Oamaru, being the centre of general admiration. A sheaf of congratulatory telegrams (including one from the bridegroom's shopmates) Avas received and read during the breakfast hour. A short toast list Avas honored. " The Bride and Bridegroom," Avas proposed by the Rev. Mr Porter, Avho in a neat speech gave sound advice to the neAvlyAvedded pair. This Avas replied to by the bridegroom, avlio in turn proposed "The Bridesmaids," Avhich was responded to by Messrs J. W. Vivian and A. Carswell. Mr Carswell proposed " The Parents of the Bride and Bridegroom," to which Messrs F. Vivian, sen., and E. Jamieson (guardian) replied. "The Host and Hostess " Avas proposed by Mr F. ViAdan, sen., Mr Jamieson responding. The toasts Avere drunk in the cup that cheers but not inebriates. The presents were both numerous and costly. Prior to the departure of the bride and bridegroom for Christchurch, Avhere the honeymoon is to be spent, the Wedding March Avas played by Mr Meldrum, the talented musician of Oamaru. A number of the guests accompanied the neAvly-Avedded pair to the railway station, Avhere rice Avas much in evidence, and amid a shoAver of it the pair boarded the train and steamed aAvay for the " City of the Plains " prior to hct'tling I down in Lawrence.
