ASSESSMENT COURT FOR TUAPEKA ROAD BOARD DISTRICT.
The above, Court was held at Shumate's Hotel, ,Wetherstoues road, on ' Saturday, March 2nd, at 11 o'clock, before E. H. Crrew, Esq., judge. ] ; Daniel Crpwley — assessed at £65; reduced to $45.', Timothy Crowley, £61; reduced to £43. Alex." Brydie, £46 ; reduced' to £32. Jas. Chalmers,. £83 ; reduced to £63 ; Jno. Pearson,- £59;, reduced to £55 10s; Jas. Thompson,. £53; reduced to £41 (the reduction was made owing to ; his having been assessed for sonic sections not his property). The appeals of Hugh Cameron, Denis Roughan, Philip Duffy, Charles Bryant, Jas. Campbell, and B. H. Hansen were struck out, as they did not appear. Samuel French, not having lodged his objection with the Assessment Court, his appeal was thrown out. Alex. Fraser, not having lodged his notice of appeal with the Clerk of the Board, his objections were not entertained, the Judge of the Court remarking tbat he should have posted the copy of the objection, as the Road Board could not be expected to have a clerk constantly in attendance.
