Hopman, Australian newspaper correspondent, commenting at the conclusion of the Queen's Club tournament, says that Wilmer Allison and J. F>. Budge showed that the American Davis Cup challenge team is particularly strong. Allison played with Iris vigour of several years ago. Results:— MEN'S DOUBLES. Quarter-finals. S. B. Wood (U.S.A.) and E. O. Maler (Spain) beat H. C. Hopman (Australia) and D. Prenn (Germany),»7-5, 6-3. K. C. Gander Dower (Great Britain) and P. de Borman (Belgium) beat I. G. Collins and F. Tl. D. Wilde (Great Britain), 3-6, fr-4. 9-7. G. P. Hughes and C. R. D. Tuekey (Great Britain) beat W. L. Allison and J. H. van Ryn (U.S.A.), 9-11,. 6-3, 6-4. Semi-finals. J. B. Budge and Gene Mako (U.S.A.) beat Gander Dower and dfe Borman, 6-1, 6-3. Hughes and Tuekey beat Wood and Maier, 7-3. 7-5. . Final. Hughes and Tuekey beat Budge and Mako, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. WOMEN'S DOUBLES. Quarter-final. Mrs Hopman and Miss Hartigan (Australia) beat Mile J. Goldschmidt (France) and Mile N. Adamson (Belgium). 3-6, 6-4, 6-4. Semi-final. Mrs Hopman and Miss Hartigan beat .Vlesdames Henrotin and Andrus (France), 4-6, 6-3. 7-5. Final. Mile Jedrezjowaka ancf Miss Noel beat Mrs Hopman and Miss Hartigan, 8-6, 4-6. 6-3. MEN'S SINGLES. Semi-finals. Jones (Great Britain) beat G. Prenn (Germany), 2-6, 6-0, 6-3. W. Allison (U.S.A.) beat J. D. Budge (U.S.A.), 10-8, 6-3. WOMEN'S SINGLES. Fourth Round. Senorita Anita Lizana (Chile) beat Miss Joan Hartigan (Australia), 7-5. 7-5. Mme Henrotin (France) beat Mrs H. C. Hopman (Australia), 6-1, 6-4. Sinorita Lizana beat Miss Noel, 4-6. 6-3 6-4. Mme Henrotin beat Mile Valerie, 6-8, 6-4, 6-3. The singles semi-finalists divide the finals, which were cancelled owing to rain having extended the tournament. The players did not wish to tire themselves before Wimledon. Frank Peach Dead. SYDNEY, June 23. Mr Frank Peach, aged forty-eight years, president of the New South Wales Lawn Tennis Association and a world tennis figure, died suddenly while golfing this afternoon.
