GARDEN ALLOTMENTS.

A meeting of the Garden Allotments Committee was held yesterday afternoon. Mr M. J. Barnett presided, and there were also present Messrs H. L. Darton, T. D. Lennie, W. W. Scarff. C. J. Goldstone, C. W. Moore and T. B. Grimley. The chairman reported on the methods of the judges in making the awards in the committee’s vegetable growing competition for relief workers. Mr Scarff moved a hearty vote of thanks to the judges. The chairman was given authority to purchase Cape barley for distribution to relief W'orkers for growing as green It was decided to ask the Mayor (Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P.) to present the prizes won either on March 16 or March 23.
