PLUNKET SHIELD TEAM.
Butterfield Gains Place in Side. • The only surprise in the Canterbury team to meet Otago in the Plunket Shield match at Dunedin commencing on Friday, February 22, is the selection of L. Butterfield. His fine century against the West Coast team probably influenced the selector in his favour. Changes in the original selection are the replacement of R. C. Burns by C. K. Jackman, and the inclusion of F. P. O’Brien. The team is as follows:—M. L. Page (captain), S. Andrews, F. W. Bellamy, L. Butterfield, I. B. Cromb, M. Graham, W. A. Hadlee, C. K. Jackman, J. L. Kerr, F. P. O’Brien, A. W. Roberts, L. H. Fisher (twelfth man). Mr C. H. Ayling will travel as manager with the team, which will leave by the 12 o’clock train to-morrow. R. C. Burns, S. G. Lester and C. J. Oliver were not available for selection. The Otago team is as follows:—Badcock, Cavanagh (captain), Chettleburgh. Dickinson, Elmes, Dunning, Kerr, Saxton, Talbot, Toomey and U ttley.
