Not Detested.

Dear Sir,—Would you allow me space please to reply to “En-Zedder”? As an Englishwoman resident in New Zealand for nearly twenty years, I have not found that the average Colonial detests us. Of course, there may be a few of “ En-Zedder’s ” type, but we would not call it a colony of hatred because of the odd ones.

Cardiff is not worse than any other big port where all nationalities meet, including a few like “ En-Zedder.” and why condemn the English for the “ races ” that use the Welsh port? Lastly, let him think what country has stood by New Zealand in hard times or earthquake, then, when less bitter, prove his “ good Helan’ breed ” by his gratitude, and not disgrace it by bad temper.—l am, etc., JUST ENGLISH.
