HIGHER WAGES.

Cooks and Stewards to Get Rise. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, February 18. An agreement has been reached between the Shipowners’ Federation and Stewards’ Union of New Zealand, by which an increase of 5 per cent in wages has been agreed upon for all coastal companies steamers as from December 1, 1934. The conditions of employment remain the same as prior to the old award which was dated October 31, 1931.
