ADDINGTON DISTRICT.
Burgesses Complain of Poor Roads. The members of the Addington Burgesses’ Association met last evening, Mr P. sioane presiding over a large attendance. Mr H. Presland brought up the bad condition of the roads in the district, mentioning Hazeldean Road, Poulsen and Harman Streets and Fairfield Avenue. He said that the residents of Hazeldean Road had decided to forward a petition to the City Council. Mr E. Parlane endorsed the previous speaker’s remarks. It was decided to write to the City Council complaining of the bad state of the roads. The annual meeting of the association will be held on Monday, March 18, in the school pavilion. Nominations for the following offices were received: Patron, Mr G. Gyde; president, Mr P. Sioane; vice-presidents, Messrs W. Baker, H. Crutch, J. Rennie, H. Wakefield, E. Parlane and L. Wilson; secretary, Mr T. Falkinder; treasurer, Mr E. Parlane. The matter of overhanging trees in South Crescent Road was left in the hands of the secretary.
