Germiquet are staying at Timaru. Mr and Mrs A. B. Struthers, Christ* church, are spending a holiday at Titnaru. Miss Sybil Webley, Rugby Street, will leave on Saturday to spend a fortnight’s holiday at Picton. Miss Rona Mulholland, Papanui, has returned home after a holiday spent in Sydney and Melbourne. Mr C. Benns, Auckland, and Mr J. Stening, Hawera, have arrived in Christchurch for the Ell-Jack wedding next Wednesday. Mrs Geoffrey Wefbster, Papanui, who has been spending a holiday in Auckland and Rotorua, is now the guest of her mother at Halcombe, Feilding. Mrs Sydney Warburton, who was the guest of Miss Loo Cartwright, Timaru, is now the guest of Mrs E. Goodwin, Fairlie, and will return to England next month. The wives of the bakers who are at present attending the conference in Christchurch were last evening the guests of Distributors, Ltd., at a theatre party. Mrs Scannell, wife of Dr F. A. Scannell, of Temuka, will leave to-day for Wellington to join the Remuera en route for England. Whilst abroad she will visit her old home in Denmark. Members of the English women’s cricket team, comprising Misses H. E. Green, E. Archdale, G. A. Snowball, M. MacLagan, M. Richards, J. Liebeit, D. Spear, G. Valentine, M. Taylor, J. Partridge, M. Child, M. Hide, G. Morgan, D. Turner and M. Burleston, who have been playing in the south, returned to Christchurch last evening.

Mrs H. M’Lean, Shirley, is spending a holiday in Auckland. Dr and Mrs Douglas Cox, Heaton Street, are staying at Timaru. Mr and Mrs C. M. Franklin, who have been spending a holiday at The Portage, have returned to Christchurch. Dr and Mrs W. E. Gibson, Timaru, have returned from a visit to their daughter, Mrs Douglas Barker, Kaikoura. Miss Dorothy Loughnan, Glandovey Road, Fendalton, has returned from Timaru, where she was the guest of Mrs Duncan Murchison. Miss Hilda Britton, Taihape, who recently arrived from England, is staying with Mrs * Noel Newton, Rossall Street. Mr and Mrs C. G. Wilkin, who have been spending two months at Sumner, have returned to their home in Fendalton. Dr and Mrs J. F. Duncan and Miss Relda Duncan, Rossall Street, left today to spend a holiday at the Marlborough Sounds. Dr and Mrs W. R. Ryburn have returned to Ashburton after a holiday spent at Sumner. They will leave again shortly on a tour of the West Coast. Mr and Mrs Stronach Paterson, Wellington, are visitors to Christchurch, and will leave to-morrow for Dunedin. Mrs H. Sinclair-Thomson, Timaru, has returned home after a visit to Miss Phyllis Boyle, Amberley, and Mrs Derrick Gould, Fendalton. Constance, Duchess of Westminster, and Captain J. Fitzpatrick Lewis, Lord and Lady Moyniham, Sir Hugh and Lady Dennison, Sir Peter and Lady Leicester, Sir Holburt Waring, Lady Lawford, Sir George Murray, Lady Glendyne, Captain and Mrs P. L. Molyneux will arrive in Wellington tomorrow by the Rangitiki from London.
